Working closely with the band and those who were there that night, Jackpot Records brings you this audio time capsule that catapulted DEVO from strange, musical hillbillies to innovative pioneers overnight. As time went on it became clear that the future is still waiting to catch up with DEVO. November 15th, 1977: Max's Kansas City - David Bowie is backstage with the 5 self proclaimed 'spudboys' from Akron, Ohio waiting for his cue to introduce the band who, in his words were, "The band of the future!". While it may have been the band's debut, _UAW_ still remains a special time capsule from one of modern rock's great bands that are still going strong after 21 years. Featuring former Treepeople member Doug Martsch, Caustic Resin's Brett Netson, and drummer Ralf Youtz the album features total rippers like the 9 minute "Built Too Long Parts 1, 2 & 3", while hazy daze of "Nowhere Nothin' Fuckup" lyrically pays homage to Velvet Underground's "Oh! Sweet Nuthin". Showcasing a nod to Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr, _UAW_ was recorded at Audio Lab Studios in the band's hometown of Boise, Idaho and soon after released on Seattle imprint C/Z Records in 1993. * 20th anniversary * First time ever on Vinyl * Old school 'tip-on' gatefold jacket with insert * Remastered from original tapes * Audiophile pressing w/ lacquers cut by John Golden and vinyl pressed at RTI * 4,500 PRESSED ON “GOLD†WAX FOR RECORD STORE DAY * 500 PRESSED ON “GREEN†WAX FOR PACIFIC NORTHWEST STORES (Wa, Or, Id) Modern Classics Recordings is proud to present for the first time on vinyl Built to Spill's debut album, _Ultimate Alternative Wavers_.

Lyrically concerned with trolls, golden birds, and other creatures conjured from the lands of the mushroomed mind, the band takes a journey-is-better-than-the destination approach. The Magic Castles are a band from Minneapolis Minnesota that was abruptly formed in 2006 by Jason Edmonds, with the help of guitar-ace Jeremiah Doering and a rotating cast of players and friends. Originally Newcombe was heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones' psychedelic phase - the name comes from Stones guitarist Brian Jones combined with a reference to cult leader Jim Jones, but his work in the 2000s has expanded into aesthetic dimensions approximating the UK Shoegazing genre of the 1990s and incorporating influences from world music, especially Middle Eastern and Brazilian music. garage scene, and many LA and SF musicians got their start playing with Newcombe, including Peter Hayes of The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. BJM has been essential in the development of the modern U.S. Since 1995 The Brian Jonestown Massacre has released numerous albums, first for Bomp! Records, the label which gave them their start, and later for TVT and Tee Pee. The Brian Jonestown Massacre is a psychedelic rock band originally from San Francisco, California, led by guitarist/singer Anton Newcombe. The two tracks from the Magic Castles are from their forthcoming new album which will be released later this year

"Happy Endings", "I Don’t Get It", "Joe 90", "Bridesmaid" Re-issued for the first two presses during the 1980’s, remastered complete with insert of previously unseen photo’s at an extremely limited run. Bored Games is abrasive and fast while still capturing Flying Nun’s unique isolated essence. The EP showcases how broad Flying Nun’s sonic net cast when put beside pop darlings The Chills and The Clean. What was left behind was teenaged anxst manifested in early punk styling’s that would sit comfortably in 1977’s England along side Buzzcocks and The Adverts. As most things at the age of 17, Bored Games were to be temporary, breaking up before the EP’s release over a year after its recording. One of Flying Nun’s earliest releases ‘Bored Games’ (1982) was the inception of a 17 year old Shayne Carter who would later go on to be a common thread in Flying Nun bands ‘The Double Happy’s’ and ‘Straight Jacket Fits’.
